We learned at approximately noon today that we had surpassed the number of signatures necessary to place the recall of mayor Carty Finkbeiner on the ballot. Which ballot remains an area of contention, but, barring any unforeseen factors or challenges, we are there! By 3:00 this afternoon, the board of elections had validated 20,400 signatures with several thousand in reserve should we need them.
To all of those you who endured bad weather, who worked many hours, who dedicated themselves to this cause, thank you for your dedication and support. We could not have done this without the help and hard work of hundreds of volunteers who gave tirelessly of themselves.
We'll pause, take a breath, then move forward.

The Recall of City of Toledo Mayor Finkbeiner is a small, but necessary, part of the Take Back Toledo movement. Even though his existing term only runs until January 2010, he must be removed to prevent further nonfeasance, malfeasance and misfeasance which have earmarked his administration.
